Funded by the European Commission as a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) and led by UnitelmaSapienza University of Rome, the three-year SUSTRACK project has aimed to support the identification of policy priorities and recommendations for designing a sustainable pathway towards circular bio-based systems.
Now that the project has reached its conclusion, SUSTRACK celebrates three years of collaboration, during which it engaged over 700 stakeholders, organised more than 15 events and 5 capacity-building activities, and collected insights through three targeted surveys across four key sectors — chemical, construction, plastics, and textile.
Discover the project’s final results and exploitable assets in the third and last SUSTRACK newsletter!
In this issue, you will find final results on:
• Identifying and Prioritising Barriers to the Circular Bio-based Transition
• Monitoring Progress in the Circular Bio-based Transition
• Case Studies and Policy Pathways: From Fossil to Bio-based Chains
• Scenarios and Modelling for a Sustainable Bio-based Future
• Policy Options and Roadmaps for the Circular Bio-based Transition
The newsletter also features a focus on the DEPLOY Conferences — from European Vision to National Action — culminating in a plenary session on capacity building and knowledge transfer, showcasing key SUSTRACK tools such as the Monitoring System, Systems Thinking & Causal Loop Diagrams, and the Green Economy Model (GEM) — all designed to support informed decision-making and systemic transformation.
